My Current Medical Condition/Seizures/Meds

I have cluster seizures that last 3-5 minutes, 2-3 times/day. My meds are Depakote, Keppra, Vigabatrin, diazepam and Diastat I get about once a week.

A Little Bit About Me

I can sit by myself, roll, scoot on my butt and slide down off the couch. With help I can stand and walk, I do better when I wear my AFOs, but I don’t like them. I drink from a sippy cup and feed myself. I’m learning to use an adaptive sppon and fork. I’m doing good with thoss. I need help to get the food on, though. I love all kinds of food especially anything I can make a mess with.
I go to school, CP Rochester, on the bus 5 half days/week. I get all my therapies there, PT, OT, Speech and Vision. Also I have gym, music, and swimming every week. At home I have a Zippie wheelchair, an up/down chair, stander and gait trainer. I have a lot of vision sensory kits from APH and a light box. Toys with lights, music and bright colors are my favorites. Right now I’m working on walking, learning to use a communication switch and matching pictures with objects.
A typical day for me is get up, have breakfast and meds, and go to school. I get home around 12:30, then I have lunch, watch my soap operas and take a nap. After that Ryan and I play together, but not too long. He annoys me after a while. After dinner and my meds I take a bath. I love bathtime! I like to splash water all over the place and mom gets all wet. I don’t like brushing my teeth or my hair or having my face washed. Then it’s off to bed. When I don’t have school and on weekends we go camping, swimming at my Aunt Julie’s house, shopping with grandma and sometimes I sleep over at my Uncle Dick and Aunt JoAnne’s house.
I’m a very happy girl. I love to laugh and sing. And I am loved by my family and they make me feel very special.
