Sayliana Schumer

During my pregnancy with Sayli i was told she was a healthy baby. About 7 months into it i was at the OBGYN and they said her heart rate was slow so off to the hospital I go, they did some monitoring and she picked back up and they let me go home, I was getting sono's every week from then on out. then at 38 weeks her heart rate dropped again and they rushed me to the hospital and started to induce labor. I gave birth via c-section and they let me hold her then off to the NICU. Still i was unsure of what was going on. I make it to the NICU and she is surrounded by specialists. One doctor says to me, when were you told she has cysts on her brain? I just started to cry, i said you just told me. I was then told she has microcephally & 4 months later Acardi. She was having alot of seziures so around march the neuro admitted her for long term monitoring. She comes and tells me " I wont paint you a pretty picture because there isnt one to paint, she will never walk or talk." I couldnt believe what she was telling me. Sayli is now 9 months old and on meds to control her seizures. During her last hospitalization she was introduced to phnobarbital and was knocked out for 4 days so they put a feeding tube in, when she awoke she wouldnt suck on a botttle so in goes the g-tube. Still no sucking. I know I am up against a battle, especially being a single parent, but she is my little angel and i am prepared to fight to get her all the treatment she needs.
