Meet

Elisa Paige Bush

Hi my name is Jasmyne and I got pregnant at the age of sixteen and gave birth to a very wonderful and special little girl named Elisa Paige when I was seventeen years old. I found out when I was five months pregnant that my daughter had enlarged ventricles. She had stoped moving and wasn’t practicing her breathing movements. I then had to be scheduled for an ultrasound every month after words up until she was born. I had to be scheduled for a c-section in october of 2002. She on the other hand had a mind of her own and decided she was ready in September. So on septenber 24th I went into labor and had to wait until the 25th to have my c-section. On September 25th I gave birth to a 7lbs 7ounce baby girl at 1:38 in the afternoon. I didn’t get to see untill 2 hrs after she was born because they rushed her away and did a head ultrasound and a cat scan. She developed Johndis in the hospital and I couldn’t bring her home for two weeks after her birth. At three months old she began to have infantile spasms and has had them ever since along with her regular gran-mal seizures. She has failed nine different medicines and the one she is on now (Zonogran) isn’t working all that well. She is now Two years old and she still cannot walk. She isn’t able to talk yet either. She also still has seizures every day. Some days are better than others but it is still hard having to watch my beautiful little girl go through so much. She gets very frustrated sometimes because she wants to communicate better but is unable to. Even though she is picking up on sign language very well. She is not potty trained and is getting a walker along with her braces very soon. She has lung problems and digestive problems also. She has a lazy eye and she dosen’t use her right side of her body very well. She has had her tonsils out shes had a g-tube,a vegal nerve stimulator put in and a cory plexus papaloma(brain tumor) removed when she was six months old. Although she has had a hard first Two years of life she is still a very well natured little girl and very very very lovable and anyone who has seen or met her falls in love with her.

Elisa Paige Won Beauty Queen

Elisa Was entered in the America Fabulous Faces Indiana State Pageant on April 1st through the 3rd and won Beauty Queen of her age division. I (her mommy) entered her in it not expecting her to win but to give something to be proud of when she gets older. I wanted her to have a chance to prove to others that you don’t have to have two perfect eyes, good speech, or even a well functioning brain to be beautiful!!!!!! She not only is beautiful on the outside but also beautiful on the inside. She has a wonderful personality and can steal anyones heart away in a beat. So Moms and Dads of Aicardi kids don’t be discouraged when thinking about the future of your daughters because my baby is living proof that anything and everything can happen even when unexpected!
