Meet

Millie Crocombe

As Millie will be three in January we thought that it was time to update her page..

Its been a hard three years for us and Millie. Millie still has good days and bad days, she still suffers from terrible reflux and is wating to have fundoplication surgery this year. The surgery should make her life alot easier as she has frequent screaming episodes where she is beside herself in pain with reflux.
Millie is now able to sit up, she needs a few cushions or a helping hand if she has a crash landing but she is getting very good at putting her hand down as a saving reaction which we are very pleased about. Millie cannot walk, talk, crawl and is totally reliant on us. In november 07 Millie has posterial and anterial spinal fusion surgery as her scoliosis was at a 45 degree angle already and was getting very bad, the surgery went well and although Millie still has to wear a brace all day the spine is alot better.
Millie attends a special needs playgroup once a week which she loves, she gets to paint and play and she really enjoys it.Millie still has frequent physio and occupational therapy and has a lovely jazz easys wheelchair, also Millie has a weekly portage visitor who plays and works with Millie, she is just wonderful and Millie loves her.

Milie is being fed via a jejunostomy tube at the moment untill her surgery, as in march this yr Millie had aspiration pneumonia and was on a life support machine for 2 weeks, as you can imagine Millie was very unwell and we were told to fear the worse, but like the little fighter she is she pulled through and since then hasnt been fed into her stomach as they think she aspirates everything, saliva, air and so untill her surgery the jejunostomy is a must.
As a family we are well Millie’s three other sisters are well, Hollie is nearly 6, Ellie is 4 and Rosie is a yr old. They adore their Millie Moozer as they call her. Its hard for the other children as Millie spends alot of time in hospitals but they are really great and understand well and love her so much as do we.
Millie’s seizures are not too bad at present, she is having them daily but on 1-2 a day which is good, obviously if she is unwell they can go up to 7-8 a day or more but they are ok at the moment.

Millie is a funny, happy, gorgeous little girl who is dearly loved by us and all that meet her, Millie has a tough life but never seems to mind. She has alot of character and has been extremely spoiled by us so can be a little cheeky at times, she also loves to have the odd pinch and a bite.
We love our daughter and although times can get very hard and demanding we wouldnt want her any other way now as she wouldnt be our Millie Moo..
As for the future we try not too think too far ahead as her health can change and is always our biggest worry, but one thing we know is that she is our precious angel and was given to us as a gift and we will cherish love and adore her for aslong as she is with us….
Now i have upset myself i think ill end our page now
Hope you enjoy the new pictures
