For over 6 wks now i’ve been trying to figure out how to tell my MARIONNA’S “STORY”. So here goes.I have 3 older children my step daughter elizabeth is 21 yrs old,my stepson steven is 18yrs old and my daughter carilynn is 16 yrs old.They are all almost old enough to be out the door.I could’nt have anymore children after my daughter Cari so i finally excepted that fact.When Cari was 15 yrs old she went to visit some family in AR. Where she met Marionna (she told me on the phone)momma you have to see her she’s so beautiful!! she has a feeding tube but it’s all yukky black around it and the only time she moves is to have a seizer.Her mom drank and done meth while she was pregnant.Momma you would fall in love with her she kinda looks like i did at that age lol.(i’m leavin alot out of the story but you will understand)Well I went to get my daughter cari from AR. when i get there i learn Marionna is in foster care and her birth mom in jail.I was able to meet Marionna and then i went to the jail and spoke with her birth mom.For me to get Marionna i had to get her birth mom out of jail,so i did.They never found her unfit they found her uneducated.So she got Marionna out of fostercare, i sent cari back home,and rented a motel rm.The birth mom showed me what meds marionna got and how to tube feed her and then she was gone.I had a month before a court date to get gaurdianship of Marionna.So i got gaurdianship and headed home to Mississippi.(FORWARDING)still thinking this was from alcohol and drug use during pregnancy i had her 1st MRI/CT SCAN the only thing i learned was she’s going blind and her brain is in half and alot of her brain is missing..started PT…LATER took her to a “better” ped nuro and he took one look at her MRI/CT SCAN told me she wont live past 3 yrs old (2wks b4 her 3rd b-day)she has aicardi syndrome…Marionna was 22months old whn i got her….we got referal to genetics who told me about this site and everyday several times a day i read what all of you put on it gives me hope..happiness…sadness…joy….I have decided rather i have another hour or another 20 years i’m just going to enjoy every moment i have with my daughter THE ADOPTION WAS FINAL JULY 1ST 2009 I believe her birth mom loved her very much but having mental problems and alcohol and drug problems she couldnt and didnt care for her as she needed too..she was a young mom with NOO support team at all…i send her pictures but allow noo visits because of her “problems”.Marionna has been a wonderful joy to our family and all of us lover her dearly my 16 yr old cari has learned to do everything as far as caring for her sissy and they have a special bond…i have added some pictures of the 2 of them…thank you all so much Marionna’s mom sherry
